The best creative work starts with a question no one else thought to ask. That's where we begin.

RJB Studio is a brand and art direction practice for organizations that care about what they put into the world. We work with mission-driven companies, founders, and creative teams who are ready to move beyond good-looking design and into something that actually holds strategic weight.

The studio was built on a simple conviction: that the most powerful creative work happens when someone is genuinely listening. Not just to the brief, but to the deeper question underneath it: what does this brand need to become, and what's standing in the way? That's where every engagement starts.

We work directly and closely with each client across brand identity, art direction, web design, and graphic design. For projects that call for additional expertise, we bring in a trusted network of collaborators in copywriting, photography, development, and marketing strategy. You always know who's in the room and why.

A Little Bit About Me

I came up as a designer at a particular moment: when digital and traditional were still figuring out how to coexist, and product design was reshaping what the industry expected from a visual communicator. Trained in communications and media at Northeastern University and in graphic and web design at RISD, I learned early that the most effective creative work lives at the intersection of strategy and craft. How a message is shaped matters as much as how it looks.

Over 12 years working across in-house teams and agency partnerships in finance, healthcare, higher education, nonprofits, and tech, I built something that's harder to teach than any software: the ability to work inside someone else's creative system and still bring something genuinely fresh to the table. Clients come back not because I reinvent their brand every year, but because I understand it deeply enough to keep it alive.

I founded RJB Studio because I wanted to show up as a creative leader, not just a pair of hands. The work I care about most starts before the design does — in the questions, the research, the listening — and ends somewhere beyond the deliverable, in whether the brand actually connects with the people it's meant to reach.

Outside the studio, I am a wildlife photographer, a gardener, a rider, a runner, and an artist — among other things. What all of it has quietly taught me is how to observe carefully, respond to what's actually there, and find the balance between structure and wildness. That sensibility lives in everything I create.
